" You Can Have A Bubble Bath " Was My First Job

" You want to make some pocket money or not ? " Noticing me hanging around in the house and brooding away my time during that lengthy 6-week final term school holiday, my 4th elder brother said to me one day. " yes yes yes " was my abrupt yet curious response, without blinking my eyes. Pocket money, I needed you, just as I was feeling so frustrated, bored and " friendless " during that long and dreadful school break. I couldn't wait to get out of the house to do something. I was 16.
My first day was smooth. I went to a suburb with houses in a cluster, neat and clean and the people were friendly. I spent my whole day around this area and distributed many flyers almost to every house telling them this new product's amazing effect after use. It would make you feel fresh, relaxed and cool. The folks believed me and comforted me by saying they would go to the designated shop to get it any time. Who only knew if they did.
Following the next day and the next, I had changed my routes from one suburb to another so to say I actually had walked a decent of several miles without realizing how tough it got me but I was energetic and I loved walking, until today.
Back to the product I was supposed to promote, what's the brand name for it ? I couldn't remember but it sounded like : Ava, Eva or Eve ? No! Was it Aqua Blue or Aqua Fresh ? I think it must be Aqua Fresh showing a girl blowing some bubbles out of her mouth, giggling and many bubbles raising from bottom to top, in a bath. Real cheeky !
During these 4 days' job cum adventure, I had studied the faces of people, the lives of some really special ones as well. There were ( are ) poor and rich, kind and cruel humans in this world because some rude people did shut their doors on me while I kept knocking on their doors while some were really friendly enough to offer me an iced lemon tea and gladly took the flyers from my hand to read through the advertisement.
I was paid $20 per day so I earned $80 for my work. Since this was only a " helping out " thing, unofficial bit of some makeshift, I wouldn't say I want to do it again but I did have an enjoyable time during those 4 days of exploring different places I would not have the chance to see, for nothing.
Finally, the sort of house-to-house job I was asked to do back then was no longer permitted, acceptable and non-existent today.

For a second there I thought you were a wild woman in your younger days. Now I see you were not wild but brave by going to all those doors. I would hate going door to door.Hahaha.....Sorry if the title was a bit exaggerating. Reading is believing so you came to know about my first job was really as decent as anything that came the first time. (LOL)
Steve, thanks for your time and comment, always !
I think that's a hard first job to have, Hilda! Glad at least some people were nice to you. I can't imagine how somebody could be rude to a 16 year old. And you were probably really cute! Ooh, going door to door is tough...It was an experience, Jennifer. Bruce is always giving us a way to dig out our past, things we did when we were younger. It's fun I can somehow rewrite what I did in my early age.
Thanks for your time and comment, Jennifer, always !You're right, Bruce does do that. I never thought about it in that way...
