My First Christmas, Or Rather, My First Christmas Performance

Let my eyes close for a second, let my thoughts flow back to the olden, gathering some fond memories, perhaps some were miseries.
I got quite mixed up, which was which, my real first Christmas when I have had over 50 more different Christmas experiences over the years, if my memory serves me well. Although time has never changed but life has and I believe even Christmas has changed from the way it used to be.
A few years ago, the Women's Cell leader, Irene, announced to us that our group was chosen to play a drama for the coming Christmas celebration, along with various other different age groups as well.
So each of us was given a part to act as an individual character as in Matthew 2: 7~12 of the Bible. As follows : Irene was King Herod, Judy was baby Jesus, Mary was Mary (coincidence ?) one was Joseph, 3 were the Wisemen, one was the Messenger, some were followers while I was one of the 3 Angels (lol) but the most striking one was the tall, big and red STAR.
Two weeks before the due date, there was a series of practices and rehearsals and work to be done. We really had a hectic time that involved about 18 people altogether in this play.
On the morning of 25th December, at the All Saints' Catheral hall, right before the Bishop's speech, we proudly presented that remarkable drama in front of 1000 more people and received a great applause from them particularly the senior preacher who was so impressed that he requested us to replay during the Sunday School Children's Party that followed. What a show !!
But I must elaborate my funny part as the angel that I was not walking on my two feet but rather, on my toes like a ballet dancer does, more like flying in the air in a long, loose white robe with accessories on my hair because they said angels should be flying and not walking.
Some time later, I overheard a child querying his mother that why some angels are OLD ? He thought only angels are YOUNG. (?)
Anyway, we have joy, we have fun, we have season in the sun whenever it's Christmas.

What a lot of fun, Hilda; it's a great memory to have and by the way you're still an angel! I'd love to have seen the show... Hilarious about the child asking about old angels!Yeah, Jennifer, it's so much fun for the bunch of us having to act like actors. Actually, even my husband secretly asked me the same question that he thought angels are for little children to act. lol.
